ROGUE CAR PARKS
Lode Hill
The planning application to continue parking on Lode Hill has fortunately been withdrawn although problems on the site continue – for example slurry escaping from the site on to Altrincham Road.
Planning Enforcement is still investigating the site
Moss Lane
Sadly, the rogue car parking operation at Moss Lane is rapidly becoming another Lode Hill with similar problems such as reports missing and damaged vehicles, lost keys, cars being seized by creditors and reports of staff being abusive and threatening towards customers. Cars are also frequently dumped in muddy fields with a complete lack of security.
On Tuesday 15 August, more than a dozen officers took part in an operation at the Moss Lane site along with colleagues from Trading Standards and Cheshire East Planning Unit. Officers spoke to a number of people and a mini-bus was seized after it was found to be unsafe. This was the vehicle being used to transfer customers to the airport. In addition, a number of damaged vehicles were found at the site.
Work is now ongoing with Cheshire East to determine what action can be taken to prevent further issues at the site.
